October in the Church calendar is a time to reflect on Mission, as well as to renew our Missionary work for today. The theme for 2010 and the misison month of October is “Together in Mission”. As a Church in Ireland we must always remember that unless we are engaged with those whoses needs are the greatest across our World we cannot fully shared the Christian call to “ be missionary”.
The Irish Missionary Union through the Mission Alive programme provides resources for members and supporters of the Irish Missionary Movement to reflect the theme for 2010. The theme for October 2010: In Mission Together encourages all Christians to reflect on the meaning of God in their lives and in the Society around them.

Included in the resource materials:
Mission Alive Resource Book 2010 – This resource book is focused on the promotion of Mission to young people. The Mission Alive Resource book 2010 includes Prayer Services, Working for Justice reflections, Justice/Development Education Game prepared by 1st and 2nd year students of Coláiste Chroí Mhuire, Spiddal Galway as well as special DVD material on missionaries, including an experience of an Irish school, Coláiste Chiaráin, Leixlip in Zambia.
IMU Report, Special Edition – ‘October’. This publication explores the understanding of the annual theme of Mission month from a variety of views
IMU Twining Handbook, is a publication to help Irish parishes explore the concept of twining with a parish from the developing world.
