'Zambia: Challenges and Opportunities for an Irish Partner Country'

The lecture will be delivered by Bill Nolan, the former Irish Ambassador to
Zambia.

What Next? Comhlámh

What Next? How to work for a better world: 6 and 13 March, 10 am – 4 pm, Dublin city centre.  This course, organised by Comhlámh, is aimed at anyone with an interest in global development issues who wants to work for a fair and equitable world from Ireland. Two days of practical and participatory workshops aim to: provide the opportunity to network with others and to gain the skills. Cost: €70 for Comhlámh members, €105 for non-members, €40 for concession rates (limited numbers available), €5 for asylum seekers.

International Pilgrimage 2010

To Santiago de Compostella,  Spain  Nine-Day Walking Pilgrimage  Camino de Santiago – like Jerusalem and Rome – is one of the great Christian pilgrimage destinations and goes back to  the Middle Ages.  

This year’s Slí Eile Pilgrimage  will commence at Logrogno and finish at Burgos, 127 km in all. Our goal is to walk for six or seven days. The physical challenge is part of the ancient pilgrimage tradition. It requires physical preparation But the heart of the physical experience is  the person’s inner journey. This year is a Holy year on the Camino de Santiago and that makes it a little bit more special. For more details log on to www.sli-eile.com.

Building links between NGOs and Teacher Education

Building links between NGOs and Teacher Education: How to make the relationship work for Development Education: 22 February, St Angela’s College, Sligo.  Organised by Ubuntu, the aim of this day long event is to bring together NGOs and teacher educators interested and/or involved in DE to establish how collaboration and cooperation can support the integration of DE into post primary ITE.
